The first PDF includes three documents:
- Background: The Fiber Cycle
- Frequently Asked Questions
- The Fiber Cycle Technical Document (March 2006)
These documents explain how wood fiber for paper products is utilized and managed in Canada and the United States. In doing so, the documents outline the major components of the “fiber cycle” (sourcing, production, recovery, and subsequent recycling of fiber in paper products) and explain why fresh fiber inputs are essential. This content was originally created by the non-profit MetaFore (acquired by GreenBlue in 2009). For additional information or questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The second PDF is an update by NCASI, to the original MetaFore Fiber Cycle Technical Document using 2016 and 2017 data. The National Council for Air and Stream Improvement (NCASI) serves the forest products industry as a center of excellence providing unbiased, scientific research and technical information necessary to achieve the industry’s environmental and sustainability goals.
